Octane Number. because, by definition, is the percentage by volume of ISO-octane in a mixture of isooctane and n-heptane have PROPRTY Knock and the fuel under test in the same operating conditions, but ....... Octane aviation fuel No 110-125 .. ....... or octane. has a new definition of what percentge over 100?

"Octane is not exploded," a measure of the proportion of octane in the fuel, but a resistance for the fuel from the fuel octane rating of 100%. The addition of other components of the octane number, lead in particular, increase resistance to detonation of fuel.

Already answered, but I say it's a direct quote from Wikipedia:

You can have a range of fuel octane number (RON) of more than 100, because isooctane is not the knock-resistant substance available. Racing fuel can, aviation fuel, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and fuel alcohol such as methanol or ethanol, but a octane rating of 110 or more - ethanol is 129 RON (102 MY 116 AKI). Typical "octane booster" additives for gasoline, including MTBE, ETBE, isooctane and toluene. Cause of lead as tetra-ethyl, was once an additive, but since the 1970s, has limited their use in most industrial countries and their use is limited primarily to aviation fuel.

The octane number is the resistance of a fuel explosion. The fuel additives such as MTBE, ETBE, iso-octane, toluene, lead, and thus the pressure of higher compression before detonation occurs, and thus a high-octane ...
